Victor Osimhen continues to remain in the spotlight nearly two years after being crowned African Footballer of the Year, following his remarkable campaign with Napoli.

After racking up 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray during his loan spell last season, the Yellow and Reds broke the bank to secure the Super Eagles striker on a permanent deal worth €75 million.

Osimhen’s outstanding goal-scoring form guided Galatasaray to a domestic double, while he also clinched the Golden Boot award in the Süper Lig with 26 goals.

It was the second time the Nigerian international had won a European Golden Boot, after claiming the Capocannoniere award in the 2022/23 season with Napoli.

With the 2025 CAF Awards fast approaching, the 26-year-old has been named among the nominees for the coveted prize.

In terms of market value, the ex-Lille striker is currently the second-most valuable player on the African continent, only behind Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi.

According to Transfermarkt, Osimhen has a market value of €75 million, with Hakimi leading the pack by €5 million.

Manchester City and Egyptian star Omar Marmoush has the same market value as Osimhen following his big-money move to the Etihad Stadium from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo follows closely in fourth position with €70 million, while Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba completes the top five with €60 million.
