Former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has slammed Serie A champions Napoli for frustrating Victor Osimhen’s permanent transfer to Galatasaray.
Osimhen is expected to leave the Naples-based club on a permanent deal this season, with Galatasaray willing to welcome the Nigerian with open arms following his stellar campaign with the Yellow and Reds last season.
Despite being linked with top clubs in the Premier League, Galatasaray are currently the only club in the race for the Super Eagles striker’s signature.
After agreeing personal terms with Osimhen, Galatasaray now face the arduous task of negotiating with Napoli.
The Serie A champions are reportedly insisting on a 10% sell-on clause, which would entitle them to 10% of any future sale of the Nigerian.
Another clause inserted in the proposed contract reportedly states that Galatasaray cannot sell Osimhen to any Serie A club for the next two years.
Sharing his thoughts on Osimhen’s potential move, Brown Ideye questioned the logic behind the clause.
“In my 20 years of professional football, I've never seen or heard this type of clause,” Ideye wrote on X.
“Galatasaray can’t sell a player they bought for two years to a European club What is Napoli scared of?
“This is more than just a transfer. Time will tell.”
