In a bid to relaunch his career after suffering a protracted injury shortly before the FIFA World Cup in 1998, Daniel Amokachi was introduced to Prophet T.B. Joshua's church, The Synagogue Church Of All Nations.

The former Nigerian international disclosed that he slept at the church's altar for weeks as he sought a miracle.

Controversial cleric, T.B. Joshua, who was renowned for performing miracles, passed away on June 5, 2021, and more than two years later, a BBC report claims the pastor was enmeshed in many scandals.

Dozens of ex-members of the church have alleged atrocities committed by the late founder, whose real name was Temitope Balogun Joshua.

In 2020, Amokachi stated he slept at the church's altar for weeks but was not healed of his injury, adding he saw miracles happen to several other people.

'The Bull' told Brila FM as per Daily Post:

"I was at the church on invitation of a friend who is a member. My friend, at that time, told me about the man of God and that I could meet my miracle if I met with the Pastor."

Amokachi said he did not believe at first but later agreed to meet the pastor and flew from England to Nigeria to meet with him.

"I slept by the church’s altar for several weeks to receive healing. I was not healed, but I saw lots of miracles that happened to people."

The former Super Eagles player then failed a medical test after signing with 1860 Munich in Germany and the contract was cancelled.
