AEK Athens head coach Marko Nikolić has dismissed reports linking Nigerian international Cyriel Dessers with a move to the club.

Recent reports had linked the Rangers striker with a move away from the Scottish Premiership this summer.

The 30-year-old had reportedly agreed to personal terms with the 13-time Greek Super League champions.

However, manager Nikolić has debunked the rumours, stating that they are not in the market for a new striker this summer.

“No, because in attack we are good with Zini, Pierrot, Martial and even Eliasson,” the Serbian was quoted by the Daily Record.

“We are working on the left-back, but we have time. Full-backs on the market are always a difficult matter. It is not a big issue—we are also looking for a player for another position.”

Dessers netted 29 goals and provided seven assists in 55 appearances for the Gers last season.
