The celebrations continue unabated following the Super Falcons’ remarkable victory at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
After trailing 2–0 in the first half, the Super Falcons staged a stunning comeback to secure a 3–2 victory over hosts Morocco in the final.
The win marked the Super Falcons’ 10th WAFCON title, a historic feat that cements their status as the undisputed Queens of African football.
The team received a well-deserved heroine’s welcome upon their arrival in Nigeria on Monday, July 28.
As reported by Vanguard, President Bola Tinubu conferred national honours of the Order of the Niger (OON) on each player and member of the coaching crew.
In addition, each team member was awarded a three-bedroom apartment and a cash prize of $100,000.
Following the confirmation of the rewards, the Super Falcons took to the dance floor, celebrating with Flavour’s hit song Big Baller, with goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie stealing the spotlight.
