Contrary to initial reports, La Liga side Villarreal lead the race to sign UD Almeria forward Sadiq Umar.
Highly regarded transfer market guru, Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday, August 4 that the Yellow Submarines are the favourites to land the signature of the Super Eagles forward.
The Sky Sports journalist added that Borussia Dortmund are yet to open official talks with UD Almeria over a possible transfer for the ex-Roma striker.
Spanish publication, FutbolFantasy had earlier reported that the 25-year-old is close to joining Dortmund in a deal worth €25m.
The report added that the forward had left his house in El Toyo after he refused to renew his rent fuelling speculations of his imminent exit from the Andalusian side.
Sadiq has been impressive for Almeria since joining the club from Partizan two seasons ago.
He scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists to help the Andalusians secure promotion to the Spanish top flight last season.
