Victor Osimhen got his second pre-season goal for Napoli against Villarreal at the Diego Maradona’s Stadium on Saturday.

Osimhen welcomed – his best friend – Samuel Chukwueze to Naples, and it was the first time both Super Eagles stars will face themselves at Club level.

Luciano Spalleti handed the Forward a starter’s spot, while Chukwueze came on in the second half, guiding Villarreal to a 3-2 win.

Quique Setien’s side took the lead in the 12th minute, when Étienne Capoue scored with a left-footed shot from inside the box.

Napoli restored parity almost immediately, with Osimhen taking full advantage of a back pass to goalkeeper before firing the ball into the roof of the net.

The hosts made a triple change in the second half with Diego Demme, Alessandro Zanoli and Giovanni Simeona replacing Stanislaz Lobotka, Juan Jesús and Victor Osimhen.

Villarreal made it 1-2 early in the second half. It was the 66th minute when Nicolas Jackson gained access into the box, turned away from the defender and scored with a left-footed shot.

Gerard Moreno, Arnaut Danjuma, Jorge Cuenca, Marcos Sánchez and Samuel Chukwueze all came on.

The changes worked well as Gerard Moreno scored Villarreal’s third, following a great pass from Yeremy Pino in the 69th minute.

Napoli reduced the deficit with a penalty converted by Kvicha Kvaratskhelia few minutes to the end of the game.
