We must qualify for 2026 World Cup - Osimhen

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen expressed optimism in the ability of the current squad to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a post on X, the Napoli striker said there are no pushovers in African football and everyone wants to be at the biggest football event later this year.

The 26-year-old said the next two matches against Rwanda and South Africa are going to be a do-or-die affair.

He said: "Nigeria can still qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and I say it not with pride or ego, I believe so much in this team, coaching crew, backroom staff and the Nigeria Football Federation.

"It is not going to be easy, no team is a pushover, but we are going to give everything and at the end of the day, Super Eagles will stand a chance to qualify because we have to be there.

"It is a must to be there, but we have a long way to go, and the next two games are really important, so we have to give everything."
