Uzoho in the race for Europa League POTW award

Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has been nominated for Europa League player of the week.

The goalkeeper was outstanding for Omonia Nicosia in their Europa League fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Uzoho, 23, made 11 saves denying Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Casemiro amongst others.

The Nigerian will battle Sporting Braga’s hat-trick hero, Vitinha Oliveira, Joey Veerman of PSV (scored a brace) and William Bøving of Sturm Graz, for the award.

Uzoho, who is also a Manchester United fan, described the performance as the best of his career, adding that it’s a dream come true to play at Old Trafford.
