Former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry has weighed in on the favourites to win this season's UEFA Champions League following the conclusion of Tuesday's matches in the Round of 16.
Galatasaray stunned Liverpool by a lone goal in Turkey, while Atletico Madrid demolished struggling Tottenham Hotspur 5–2 at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Bayern Munich also made light work of Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium, dismantling La Dea 6–1 to return to Germany with a healthy advantage.
Newcastle United also held Spanish champions Barcelona to a 1–1 draw at St James' Park, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg at Camp Nou.
Speaking in his post-match analysis on CBS Sports, Henry tipped his former club, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich as the favourites to clinch the UCL.
According to the former France international, Barcelona have not done enough to prove that they can end their 11-year wait for their next Champions League title.
“Bayern Munich are way more balanced than Barcelona in terms of how they attack and shift positions,” Henry said.
“Barcelona need to find that consistency and balance if they want to win the Champions League.
“But they don’t have that balance sometimes, and that makes me turn to Bayern and Arsenal as the favourites to win the Champions League.”
