Victor Osimhen has lauded his Galatasaray teammates for their impressive victory over Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

The 26-year-old scored the only goal of the game as the Turkish champions edged the Premier League giants 1-0 at Rams Park on Tuesday night.

Osimhen's 16th-minute goal from the penalty spot was his 10th in the UEFA Champions League.

He became the first Nigerian player to reach that milestone in Europe's prestigious club competition.

Speaking after the game, Osimhen described Liverpool as a tough opponent while commending his team for pulling off the victory.

“Frankly, I want to congratulate the team first. It was a very tough opponent for us, and many people, except for the fans here, didn’t really believe we would win.

We managed to pull together as a team,” he told the club’s official website.
