Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman starred as Atletico Madrid and Club Brugge played out a thrilling 3–3 draw in the Round of 16 play-offs of the UEFA Champions League.
The former African Footballer of the Year scored on the stroke of half-time to give his side a two-goal cushion before the break.
It was a debut Champions League goal for the 28-year-old, who joined Diego Simeone’s side last month.
Lookman made history by becoming the first Atletico Madrid player to score on his Champions League debut for the club in the last seven years.
The last player to achieve this feat in the colours of Atleti was Héctor Herrera against Juventus in 2019.
Lookman has now netted three goals in five appearances for Atletico Madrid.
