Lille head coach Davide Ancelotti has revealed how his side can put the brakes on Victor Osimhen ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash against Galatasaray.
Osimhen is set to face Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in what will be a homecoming for the Nigerian international as he returns to his former club.
The 27-year-old played for Lille during the 2019–2020 season before making his big-money move to Napoli in the summer of 2020.
Both Lille and Galatasaray will head into the game in search of their first wins of this season’s Champions League campaign.
Speaking ahead of the game, Davide, the son of veteran coach Carlo Ancelotti, disclosed that it would take a collective effort to stop Osimhen.
“We stop him with a collective effort. It doesn’t depend on one player; it always depends on the collective,” Ancelotti said.
“He’s a player who, at Napoli, almost won the Scudetto single-handedly,” he added.
