Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has stated that Galatasaray want to make an impact in Europe this season.

Galatasaray are competing in the UEFA Champions League this season after missing out on qualification in previous campaigns.

The Yellow and Reds began their campaign with a disappointing 5–1 loss away to Eintracht Frankfurt before bouncing back with a home win against Liverpool.

The Turkish champions continued their fine form with another home victory against Bodø/Glimt.

After missing the opening game against Frankfurt, Osimhen has netted three goals in his last two games — against Liverpool and Bodø/Glimt.

Speaking ahead of Galatasaray’s upcoming UCL clash with Ajax, Osimhen declared that the team are ready to make a statement in the competition.

“I spoke with the president when I arrived here, and we really want to make a statement in the Champions League,” Osimhen told UEFA.com.

“We want to show that, in Turkey, we are the team the whole world will know this year because we actually did something amazing in Europe.

“We’ve dominated the league for years — and we will keep on dominating it — but now it’s time to make a statement in the most prestigious games, the Champions League games. It’s beautiful when you play in the Champions League, so for us, we want to make a statement.”
