UCL: Arsenal make record after win over Sporting

Arsenal, on Tuesday, set a record in the UEFA Champions League after beating Sporting CP.

The Premier League leaders defeated Sporting 1-0 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg tie in Lisbon.

Kai Havertz scored a late stoppage-time goal to give the Gunners a first-leg advantage ahead of the return leg at the Emirates Stadium next week.

However, according to OptaJoe, the win over Sporting means Arsenal have had 38 goal involvements by substitutes across all competitions this season (24 goals, 14 assists), more than any other team across Europe’s big five leagues.

Arsenal also remains the only undefeated team in the Champions League so far this season.

Mikel Arteta’s side will now face Bournemouth in the Premier League in their next fixture this weekend.
