Transfer: Simba move for Nwabali

Tanzanian club Simba SC have reportedly opened talks for a potential move for Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

According to reports, the club is looking to reinforce their squad following the injury of their first-choice goalkeeper, Moussa Camara.

Nwabali has six months left on his current deal with Chippa United in the South African Premiership.

Foot Africa reports that Simba are considering bringing in Nwabali either in the current transfer window or as a free agent at the end of the season.

“Simba identified Nwabali as the ideal successor to Camara, but the club is yet to submit a formal bid to Chippa United, who are open to offers,” Foot Africa reported.

“Sources have indicated that Simba are in active talks with the player’s camp in a bid to lure him to Dar es Salaam in the ongoing window or on a free transfer, but no agreement has been reached,” the report added.

Nwabali's stock has risen sharply following another remarkable display at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 29-year-old recorded four clean sheets for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, guiding them to a strong finish in the tournament.
