Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Victor Osimhen rejected a move to Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League because he prefers a switch to Old Trafford.
Ferdinand's assertion comes against the backdrop of Osimhen's rejection of multiple lucrative offers from Al Hilal this summer.
The 26-year-old reportedly wants to continue playing at the top level in Europe, where he has attracted interest from clubs in the Premier League and Serie A.
Galatasaray have also expressed strong interest in signing the Nigerian international on a permanent deal following his remarkable loan spell with the club, during which he netted 37 goals in 41 competitive appearances for the Yellow and Reds.
Speaking on his podcast show, the former England defender stated that Osimhen may have declined a move to Al Hilal because he is eyeing a transfer to Manchester United.
“They already know who I want. The people already know who I want. Osimhen. It looks like he’s turned down Al Hilal. He must be waiting for Manchester United.
“I don’t know if Manchester United will go for him, but if they don’t get him—Gyokeres. I’ll take him,” the former Leeds United defender said.
