Transfer: Osimhen downplays future talks after Galatasaray's league triumph

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has downplayed speculation about his future following Galatasaray's title-clinching victory over Kayserispor on Sunday, May 18.

The 26-year-old netted his 25th league goal in 29 appearances as the Istanbul giants thrashed Kayserispor at Rams Park to secure their 25th league title.

The Super Eagles forward opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Barış Yılmaz doubled Galatasaray's lead three minutes later.

Goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was handed penalty duties in the 89th minute, adding the finishing touch to Okan Buruk's side's triumph.

The Napoli loanee became the third player to score 25 goals in a single Super Lig season, equaling the record set by Bafétimbi Gomis and Mauro Icardi.

In a post-match interview, Osimhen expressed his excitement after helping Galatasaray secure the domestic double in Turkey.

However, he declined to comment on his future with the club.

“I feel very happy. It is incredible to take part in Galatasaray’s history and reach the fifth star. We have two matches left,” Osimhen was quoted by the club’s official website.

“We will look to have fun. I am enjoying the moment at the moment. I am not thinking about my future.”
