Leicester City have announced the signing of Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
The Foxes moved to bolster their midfield following injuries to Jordan James and Aaron Ramsey, while Hamza Choudhury is also facing a potential knee problem that could keep him sidelined for a lengthy period.
Aribo has struggled to get regular game time at Leicester City this season despite the club competing in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Super Eagles midfielder has made just seven appearances for the Foxes, coming off the bench in all seven matches.
With Aribo’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Leicester City are expected to explore the possibility of signing the midfielder as a free agent should he impress during his loan spell.
Aribo joined Southampton in 2022 and featured in 32 of the Saints’ 38 Premier League matches last season, scoring three goals.
