Despite expressing strong interest in signing Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal this summer, Galatasaray are reportedly exploring other alternatives.

According to Turkish football expert Volkan Kılıç, the Istanbul-based club has enquired about Alexander Isak from Premier League side Newcastle United.

Kılıç, in a tweet on X, however, admitted that landing the Swedish international will be an arduous task for the Turkish champions.

Isak, 25, has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers following his outstanding performances for the Magpies since joining the club from Real Sociedad.

“Galatasaray will contact Newcastle United’s star player Alexander Isak if the Victor Osimhen transfer is unsuccessful, Kılıç wrote on X.

“Although the possibility of a transfer seems very difficult, Galatasaray plans to push this possibility.”

Isak bagged 27 goals and provided six assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for Eddie Howe's side last season.

The former Real Sociedad striker has three years left on his deal with Newcastle United.
