Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have reportedly rekindled their interest in Nigeria's Ademola Lookman.

The reigning African Footballer of the Year has been linked with a move away from the Bergamo-based club this summer.

Atalanta are willing to sell Lookman for a fee in the region of €60 million.

According to reports, Atleti head coach Diego Simeone has contacted the Super Eagles winger on the phone over a possible move for the Nigerian.

The club is, however, looking forward to engaging in negotiations with Atalanta to reduce their asking price for Lookman.

The 27-year-old racked up 20 goals and provided seven assists in 41 competitive appearances for La Dea last season.
