Premier League giants Arsenal have launched a €75 million bid to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, potentially bringing an end to their pursuit of Nigeria's Victor Osimhen.
The Gunners have played most of the season without a recognized center-forward following Gabriel Jesus' injury.
Kai Havertz was initially deployed by Mikel Arteta as a makeshift number 9, but the German international has also been ruled out with an injury for the remainder of the season.
Osimhen has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal emerging as a potential destination.
Despite Osimhen's remarkable form in the Turkish Super Lig, the Gunners are yet to reach an agreement with Napoli for the Nigerian international.
Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã reports that Mikel Arteta's side has tabled a €75 million bid for Viktor Gyökeres.
However, Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas has stated that any club pursuing the Swedish striker must trigger his €100 million release clause.
