Top 10 best paid sports stars with Mbappe set to eclipse Cristiano Ronaldo after Al Hilal offer

Kylian Mbappe is in line to become the highest-paid sports star in the world after he received a massive offer from Saudi Pro League club, Al-Hilal.

The French star is facing an uncertain future with Paris Saint-Germain, with reports suggesting the Ligue 1 champions are ready to part ways with him.

According to Sky Sports, PSG have already put Mbappe up for sale, having omitted him from their pre-season tour of Japan - likely as a result of him opting not to extend his current deal to 2025.

The development comes at a time when the 2019 World Cup-winning star has just a year left on his contract at Parc des Princes.

Reports claim Al-Hilal have since tabled a world-record transfer bid of close to £300 million to land the former Monaco ace.

The Sun adds the Saudi Pro League club have offered Mbappe a staggering £11.6mil per week, adding up to over £600mil a year.

The world's best-paid sports stars

The proposed wages will see Mbappe become the highest-paid footballer of all time, eclipsing the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar Junior.

The Portuguese star is currently the highest-paid footballer in the world, with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner reportedly pocketing £173mil per year at Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo's former Real Madrid teammate, Karim Benzema, is placed second on the earners' list, banking £172mil per year after his sensational move to Al-Ittihad.

Messi is placed sixth on the list after his move to Inter Miami in the MLS, with ex-Chelsea midfielder, N'Golo Kante, now earning more than him.
