Former Super Eagles defender Taribo West has cast doubt on the future of Super Eagles attacker, Wilfred Ndidi, at Leicester City.

Ndidi, who joined the Foxes from Belgian side Genk in the 2016/2017 season, has become a mainstay at the King Power Stadium.

For nine years with the East Midlands, the Nigerian international has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most consistent midfielders.

Although Leicester are set to return to the EFL Championship next season—following a dismal 2024-25 EPL campaign—there’s still uncertainty surrounding Ndidi’s long-term commitment.

Commenting on the 28-year-old’s future, Taribo West, who has donned the colours of Inter Milan and AC Milan, revealed that the Nigerian defensive midfielder is unlikely to relegate with the rest of the team.

“I don't see him staying at Leicester in the Championship, despite his loyalty to the club.” Taribo said, as cited by Africa Foot.

Ndidi’s current contract runs until June 2027, giving Leicester some leverage should other clubs come calling this summer.

However, the Super Eagles midfielder could be tempted by interest from bigger clubs or leagues that are ready to offer him European football, which

Meanwhile, Ndidi has been linked with Crystal Palace over the last few weeks, and the club might be offering him a chance for a Premier League stay, if not European football.

Although, nothing has been made concrete yet, but with the summer transfer window approaching, all eyes will be on whether Ndidi commits to Leicester’s next chapter or seeks a new challenge elsewhere.
