THROWBACK: Nostalgic Eguavoen shares photos of 1994 World Cup game against Italy

Immediate past Super Eagles coach, Augustine Eguavoen took to the photo-sharing app, Instagram on Wednesday, July 6, to share fond memories of the Super Eagles clash against Italy at the 1994 World Cup.

The Super Eagles team of 1994 is generally considered as the Golden generation with a collection of some finest football talents the country has ever seen, helmed by Dutch coach Clemens Westerhof.

Some of these finest talents on display were, Rashid Yekini, Jay Jay Okocha, Stephen Keshi, Finidi George, Emmanuel Amuneke, Samson Siasia, Daniel Amokachi, Sunday Oliseh, Austin Eguavoen, among others.

The former Super Eagles fullback looks back at Nigeria's clash with Italy at the round of 16 stage twenty-eight years on.

The Super Eagles lost to the Azures by 2-1 after extra time.

Emmanuel Amuneke's header in the 25th minute was cancelled out by Roberto Baggio's brace, this was after Gianfranco Zola has been given his marching orders after a rough tackle on Eguavoen.
