Swiss-born Nigerian goalkeeper, Sebastian Osigwe is eyeing a call-up to the Super Eagles, noting that it will be an honour to play for the African giants.

This follows preparations by the Eagles ahead of their friendly games against fellow Africans Ivory Coast and Tunisia in Austria.

There is a high possibility that players outside Europe may not be invited for the games due to travel restrictions in Austria, and Osigwe, who has never hidden his desire to represent Nigeria despite born in the Swiss city of Luzern to a NIgerian father, is ready to grab the opportunity with both hands.

“It’s an honour to be called upon by your country, such calls must never be taken for granted. So, for sure, I’ll be ready to accept an invitation from my beloved country,” Osigwe, 26, told The PUNCH.

“Making the move to Lugano shows my development as a goalkeeper. The coach, who is in charge of the team makes decisions on who makes the team. At this point in time, there are very good goalkeepers who are amazing and I believe when the time is right I’ll surely get a call-up,” he added.

Osigwe last played for SC Kriens in the Swiss Challenge League before making a recent switch Super League side Lugano.
