Former Gabon international Rémy Ebanega has dropped a bold prediction ahead of the Super Eagles' World Cup playoff clash against the Panthers.

After finishing among the second-best teams in the group stages, Nigeria will lock horns with Gabon in Rabat, Morocco, in the semifinal playoffs.

The winner of this mammoth clash will face either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final CAF playoff match on Sunday, November 16.

Sharing his prediction ahead of the game, Ebanega tipped the Panthers to edge the Super Eagles 2-1 on Thursday, November 13.

“It will be 2-1 in favor of Gabon. It will be close, yes, Nigeria is a tough opponent in Africa — a regular qualifier for the World Cup,” Ebanega told Gabon Eco.

“But with what we have seen from the Panthers in recent years, I think we have a chance. The victory will be difficult, but we will achieve it.”
