The one-cap Nigerian star was on from start to finish for the Belgians as they booked their place in the next round of Europe’s elite football cup competition

Raphael Onyedika was in the mix as Club Brugge held Atletico Madrid to a goalless draw at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Belgian champions became just the second club in Belgian football club history to make it to the next stage of Europe’s top competition.

Atletico completely dominated the game against the resolute Belgians with mustering a huge 21 shots in the game against Brugge’s five. The profligate Spaniards had nine of the shots on target while Brugge had just one.

Atletico’s dominance was also seen in the number of corners taken with their dozen of kicks failing to open a channel to goals for the former Spanish champions.

Club Brugge currently top group B with 10 points after four games having managed three wins and a draw from four games.

The defensively astute Belgians are also yet to concede after 360 minutes of football and have the best defense ninth Champions League so far.

Atletico also face a race against time to make it to the next round of the competition as their chances of progression grow slimmer.
