Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has stated that the confidence flowing through the Fenerbahce squad has been a significant part of their excellent winning streak, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osayi-Samuel also maintains that Fenerbahce needed to secure a victory at the weekend following their midweek exertions.

Fenerbahce made it 20 wins in a row in all competitions with a 0-5 away victory over Pendikspor on Saturday.

Three days earlier, Fenerbahce defeated Ludogorets 3-1 in their UEFA Europa Conference League gameweek three clash. Osayi-Samuel played for only 63 minutes in that encounter.

There were concerns about how Fenerbahce would respond away to Pendikspor on matchday ten of the Super Lig campaign.

And for the opening half-hour, the league leaders struggled against the relegation-battlers, but Osayi-Samuel’s exciting attacking play forced Erdem Canpolat to score an own goal.

The floodgates opened for Fenerbahce afterwards as Kahveci’s goal, and Edin Džeko’s second-half hat-trick handed the visitors an excellent win.

And Osayi-Samuel has expressed how crucial it was for Fenerbahce to bag the maximum points, especially with a key faceoff against Trabzonspor lurking in the corners.

“I think it is important to win the league on the weekend after playing during the week,” Osayi-Samuel said, as per EnsonHaber.

“As a team, we believe in the importance of improving every match. We will play an important match again next week.

“The self-confidence in the team is at a very high level. The fans push the team very much every match. We feel this intensely. We think we make them happy by winning.”

Fenerbahce have won ten out of ten games in the Super Lig this term.

The Yellow Canaries have not won the Turkish league title since 2014, with the Yellow Canaries finishing in second place last season.
