Super Eagles drop in latest FIFA ranking

The Super Eagles have dropped in the latest FIFA World rankings for national teams.

Nigeria dropped two places from the previous ranking. The Super Eagles who were ranked 40th in the world in October, have now dropped to 42nd.

Nigeria's fall can be attributed to the team's poor start to the FIFA World Cup qualifiers campaign.

The Super Eagles failed to beat Lesotho at home and Zimbabwe away after both games ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw.

The rankings were released on Thursday, November 30.

On the African continent, Nigeria maintained its 6th position.

Morocco maintained their number spot in Africa followed by Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt respectively.

World champions Argentina maintained their number spot in the world despite losing at home to Uruguay in South American World Cup qualifiers.

France ranked 2nd, followed by England, Belgium and Brazil.
