Super Eagles defender impressed with Peseiro's training methods

Super Eagles defender, Semi Ajayi says the team is happy with new coach Jose Peseiro's training methods.

According to the 28-year-old defender, the Portuguese trainer is working well with the squad and they are learning new things during their training sessions with the 62-year-old.

The West Bromwich Albion center-back played in Peseiro's first two friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador alongside stand-in captain Troost-Ekong at the heart of the Super Eagles defence.

He was also named by the Portuguese in the squad list to face Seirra Leone and Sao Tome for the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Speaking in an interview with Brila ahead of the Super Eagles clash with the Leone Stars, the Arsenal academy product said:

“He (Jose Peseiro) is working with the boys and trying to implement his ideas on the team,” Ajayi said about the Portuguese trainer.

“Every session and game we played, we are learning something new and that’s what he wants from us and we good.”

Adjayi admitted that it won't be a pushover against Sierra Leone and the Super Eagles will approach the game with all seriousness.

“We know it’s not going to be easy, and we are taking it seriously. We’ll listen to everything the coach has to tell us about his game plan and gladly execute it.”
