Super Eagles boss urged to give other goalkeepers chance in second friendly vs Cameroon

Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze has called on head coach Gernot Rohr to give other goalkeepers a chance in the Super Eagles second friendly against Cameroon on Tuesday.

The Eagles went to Austria with three goalkeepers, Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho and John Noble, for the double-header ties with hosts of the 2021 AFCON.

In Friday’s clash Okoye was in goal as the Eagles lost 1-0 thanks to a Andre Anguissa strike.

And ahead of tomorrow’s game, Udeze urged Rohr to allow the other keepers to be in action on Tuesday, faulting the coach’s decision to even pick Okoye in the first game.

“Why didn’t he give other keepers the opportunity (in the first game against Cameroon) we have someone like John Noble,” Udeze querried on Sports Machine on Brila FM.

“This is a friendly you have nothing to lose. He should give others the chance so that when they don’t do well he will know he has given them the opportunity.”
