Spurs keen on signing Nigerian prospect

Tottenham Hotspurs have reached an agreement with young talented Nigerian defender, Destiny Udogie.

The 19-year-old who plays as a left-back for Serie A club Udinese joined the club on a year loan with an obligation to buy from Hellas Verona last summer.

Udogie is on the radar of many clubs in Europe following his impressive season in the Serie A last term.

He scored 5 goals and recorded 5 assists in 35 appearances for Udinese last season.

The young defender is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the Italian league.

Italian website, Calciomercato reports that Spurs have reached a verbal agreement with Udinese over the signing of Udogie.

The report further explains that Spurs wants to sign the defender and loan him back to Udinese for a season to aid in his development.

Udogie has also been linked with a move to Inter Milan and Lazio in the past.

He was born in Verona, Italy, and has represented Italy at the U16, U17, U18, U19, and U21 levels.

The 19-year-old is eligible to feature for Nigeria at the senior level as per FIFA rules.
