Simon's Nantes crushed by star-studded PSG side in French Super Cup

Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon featured for Nantes as they were thumped by a dominant Paris Saint Germain side led by the two musketeers, Messi and Neymar.

Nantes' hopes of a first French Super Cup title in 21 years hit a snag as they were battered by the French champions in the Super Cup.

A brace from Neymar and a goal each from both ex-Barcelona and ex-Real Madrid captains, Messi and Sergio Ramos condemned Nantes to a heavy 4-0 defeat at the Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Simon on the night showed glimpses of good performance but it wasn't enough to salvage his side or produce a consolation for the Coupe de France winners.

The 27-year-old Nigerian came close to finding the back of the net in the second half but his effort was dealt with by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Nantes had a fairy-tale season last term after winning the Coupe de France title for the first time in 22 years.

Nantes will kick off their 2022/2023 Ligue 1 campaign on August 7, when they travel away to Angers.
