Akin Olowokere, the new Assistant Coach for Shooting Stars Sports Club in Ibadan, Oyo State, sadly passed away on Monday morning. He was among the recent coaches appointed to the team. As of now, there hasn't been an official explanation for his passing.

According to witnesses in Ibadan, during the team’s Monday morning training session, he suddenly slumped on the pitch and was quickly taken to the hospital. Our thoughts are with his family and the team during this difficult time.

“He was, however, confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed.”

It was reported that the former Sunshine Stars of Akure player and later coach was involved in an incident while on the field. He received medical attention right away and was quickly taken to an undisclosed hospital.

Recently, he was introduced as one of the new coaches for the Oluyole Warriors after the club parted ways with the coaching team led by Gbenga Ogunbote.

Known as a quiet, respectful person, he spent many years as a player with his hometown club, Sunshine Stars of Akure, before transitioning into coaching.

He also served as an assistant coach at the club under head coach Edith Agoye.
