Sevilla plot move for another Nigerian striker to replace Akor Adams

Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla are reportedly closing in on a move for Super Eagles-eligible striker George Ilenikhena.

The Rojiblancos have identified the Nigerian striker as a potential replacement for Akor Adams, who left the Andalusians to join Venezia in Serie A in a deal worth €16 million this summer.

Sevilla are reportedly exploring a loan option for the Al-Ittihad striker to fill the void left by Adams in attack.

Ilenikhena was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and remains eligible to represent the Super Eagles at international level.

The 19-year-old, who completed a reported €33 million move from AS Monaco to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, has endured a difficult start to life in the Middle East and will reportedly welcome a return to Europe.

The youngster joined the Saudi giants in February this year, where he was expected to succeed veteran striker Karim Benzema, but has since struggled to fill the shoes of the former Ballon d'Or winner.

According to Zonamixta, Sevilla are actively exploring the option of bringing Ilenikhena to the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on an initial loan deal this summer.
