Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye remains upbeat despite his side’s loss to AS Roma in the Italian Serie A.

Udinese suffered a 2–0 defeat to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, November 9.

Lorenzo Pellegrini gave the home side the lead from the spot three minutes before the halftime break, before Turkish international Zeki Çelik doubled the advantage for José Mourinho’s side on the hour mark.

The defeat leaves Udinese in 10th position in Serie A after game week 11.

Sharing his thoughts after the game, Okoye lauded his side’s effort despite the defeat.

“I’m very proud of the team. We put in a good performance at the Stadio Olimpico. It isn’t easy against a very good Roma side. I’m pleased because the display was good despite us not taking any points back home,” the Nigeria international told the club’s official website.
