'Scores with class and power’ – Simeone impressed with Chukwueze’s techniques after first Milan goal

Chukwueze Chukwueze

Italian reporter, Simeone Gervasio was impressed with the performance of Samuel Chukwueze for AC Milan against Novara on Sunday, where the Super Eagles star scored his first-ever goal for the club in a friendly game on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old recently sealed a £28m move to Milan last month, looking to start a new chapter of his career with the Rossoneri. By joining the 7-time European champions, Chukwueze has written his name into history as the sixth Nigerian to don the club’s famous red and black jersey.

He has since made a trophy-winning debut for the club, coming on as a late substitute. Milan won their first trophy in the new season after beating Monza on penalties in the Trofeo Bersculoni final a few days ago.

Chukwueze had to wait for his first goal in a friendly game on Sunday, he opened the scoring after just nine minutes with superb techniques that reminded fans why Milan put up a fight against the likes of Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich to bring him to Italy this summer.

The former Nigeria U-17 star received the ball from Switzerland International Noah Okafor and advanced toward the goal, then managed to fake the defenders with his body movement and rounded goalkeeper Axel Desjardins to slot into an empty net.

His performance earned praise from calciomercato’s reporter Simone Gervasio, who rated him alongside Okafor and Calabria as the three Milan players, who put up the best performances in the 4-2 victory at Milanello Sports Center on Sunday.

A tightrope walker. Drives the opposing defense crazy: runs, dribbles, shoots. It lacks a bit in definition but promises to entertain its fans, Gervasio said

His first goal for the Rossoneri explains a lot of what can be expected from him. Okafor helps him recover the ball, he takes it and flies towards the goal. He easily jumps the goalkeeper, fakes to avoid the defenders stationed on the line and scores with class and power.

Chukwueze could be getting his competitive debut for Milan on 21 August, when they visit Bologna in the opening week of the Serie A, giving him the chance to get his first experience of the Italian top flight, having played all his previous European football in Spain.
