Salah, Mane now aware of Tanganga's presence - Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho, believes that youngster, Japheth Tanganga, has made an unforgettable impression in the hearts of Liverpool's attacking duo, Mohammad Salah, and Sadio Mane.

Tanganga, 20, made his debut appearance for Tottenham on Saturday and was impressive during the match that ended 1-0 in favour of league leader's Liverpool.

As a result, Jose was displeased when he was questioned about a possible plan on signing new players in January.

“The last thing I want to do after this performance is to speak about [buying new] players,” said Mourinho.

“I think it is a way to show respect to these guys, not to speak about new players.

“Can we say Tanganga is a new player? He had never played a match for Tottenham in the Premier League. Today he played and today he proved that he can play for us.”

“It’s a pity that he’s not a striker! It’s a pity that he’s not a midfield player, but he is one more player that we have,” he added.

He then praised the 20-year-old saying that his performance caused wingers Salah and Mane to know what he’s capable of.

“I think Mane and Salah, they know who Tanganga is [now]. They didn’t know before the game,” he continued.

“I think when they saw the list [of players], they thought, ‘Oh, what position does this guy play?’

“I think now they know. The kid was really good. So instead of speaking about, crying about Harry Kane and Sissoko and Lloris and Ben Davies, let’s smile with Tanganga,” he concluded.

Having lost skipper, Harry Kane, to injury, Spurs lie eighth on the Premier League table.
