Sadiq to return against Valladolid after serving suspension

Nigeria and Almeria striker, Umar Sadiq is set to return to the starting line-up for Almeria against Real Valladolid in the Spanish Segunda.

This comes after he completely served his compulsory one-match suspension for accumulating five yellow cards in 15 games.

Almeria, who are topping the league in that division missed the fixture against Ibiza.

The rule states that a player who receives five yellow cards before the 19th match-week will get a one-match ban while a two-match ban will be issued to any player that accumulates 10 yellow cards by match-week 32.

Almeria will be happy to welcome back their talismanic striker. Despite failing to find the back of the net in their last four games but has been influential for the side who have won six-straight games, The Punch reports.

Almeria currently top the league table after 16 games, six points ahead of Eibar.

Sadiq with seven goals in 15 appearances is Almeria’s top scorer and third on the highest goals scorers in the league, two goals behind FC Cartagena’s Rubén Castro who has nine goals. The 24-year-old tops the assist log with six from 15 appearances.
