Rwanda has renamed one of its stadiums after the late Brazilian football legend, Pele who passed late last year.

The 22,000-seater stadium which was previously called Kigali Regional Stadium will now be called the Kigali Pele Stadium.

The ceremony which was held on the side-lines of the 73rd FIFA Congress in Rwanda's capital of Kigali was attended by FIFA boss Gianni Infantino and presided over by Rwanda President Paul Kagame.

The 67-year-old Kagame thanked Infantino for giving the country the chance to honour the memory of Pele who he believes is arguably the greatest player ever.
