Romelu Lukaku: Inter Ultras unveil banner against Roma Striker ahead of Milan return

Romelu Lukaku should be braved for a tense atmosphere when he returns to Milan this evening for the first time with AS Roma to play Inter Milan at the San Siro.

Lukaku joined Roma on a season-long loan from Chelsea after spending the summer training individually and being in the middle of a return to Inter, a permanent move to Juventus or a stay at Stamford Bridge.

Per 90 min, Chelsea deliberated reintegrating him into the squad when it looked like the move away would not materialise, and the club could not sign any of their priority forwards.

His biggest problem came when he foiled Nerazzurri's attempt to sign him by ghosting their calls after an agreement was reached with the London club over a fee and after it was known that he moved with the idea of joining Juventus.

Inter ultras unveil banner for Lukaku

The Curva Nord ultras have been vocal about their disdain for the Belgian striker over his attitude in the summer and have vowed to show him the other side of them when he returns.

Per GIFN, the initial plan was to distribute 30,000 whistles to fans to boo him each time he touches the ball, but this was foiled by the authorities who have prevented whistles from entering the stadium.

According to Tutto Mercato, they have unveiled a banner somewhere in Milan with a message for the player who won the 2020/21 Italian Serie A with them.

“Infamous, disgusting man. Milan is waiting for you,” the banner reads.

The former Manchester United forward has scored eight goals in 12 games since moving to Rome, and if the Giallorossi are to take anything away from today's game, he would have a say.

Mourinho to miss Inter clash

As Sports Brief reported, Mourinho was red-carded against Monza for his touchline antics during Roma's slim 1-0 victory over AC Monza.

The Special One made a crying gesture and insulted his opponent's manager and bench, which got him a straight red in the final moments, and he will now miss the game against his former club, Inter Milan.
