Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged the club to pay Victor Osimhen's asking price.
The 24-year-old Serie A top scorer has been on the Red Devil's radar since last summer but United are yet to reach an agreement with Napoli for their most-priced asset.
Osimhen's remarkable form last season further rekindled the club's interest in him after he ended the season as the top scorer in Serie A with 26 goals in 32 appearances.
The Prince of Naples also netted 5 goals in the UEFA Champions League, making it a total of 31 goals in all competitions for Luciano Spalletti's side.
Other top European clubs like Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid have all reportedly expressed interest in the Super Eagles striker but Man United are the forerunners as far as the Osimhen chase is concerned.
United boss Erik Ten Haag is in dire need of a reliable number 9 ahead of the 2023/2024 season as names like Osimhen, Harry Kane and Rasmus Hojlund have all popped up.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand has urged the club to take the bold decision to by signing the Nigerian international.
He believes the former Lille striker is the only suitable option in the market at the moment.
“Do it! Look at the market. Who else is there? There’s no one ready-made,” Ferdinand noted.
