Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole makes Super Eagles squad

Remo Stars goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole, has made the Super Eagles provisional list for this month’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Bankole's call-up may not be unconnected to the crisis rocking the goalkeeping department of the Eagles.

The first choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, may be doubtful for the games after he lost his parents.

The Chippa United goalkeeper announced his dad's passing in November 2024 which was followed by a January 2025 passing of his mother.

Coach Eric Chelle might want to keep him out of the game to afford him enough time to mourn his parents.

Also, second choice goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, is currently injured and sidelined by his club Udinese which h have failed to provide update on his recovery process.
