Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has warned Tottenham Hotspur to start securing results before they slide into the relegation places in the Premier League.

Spurs have failed to win any of their last five Premier League matches, managing just two draws and three defeats.

Thomas Frank’s side are currently six points above the relegation zone, having picked up just 29 points from 25 games.

Speaking on Spurs’ poor run of form, Rooney warned that the North London club could be dragged into a relegation battle this season.

“You’d have to say they are in a relegation battle with their current form,” Rooney told BBC Sport.

“West Ham have been in form, and Nottingham Forest pick up results here and there.

“I think they (Tottenham) will definitely be looking over their shoulders.”
