Following the exclusion of Nigeria and Leicester City's midfielder, WIfred Ndidi, from the African Best Eleven Players list released on Tuesday night during the CAF 2019 Awards, Nigerians have expressed their displeasure.

Ndidi was left out of the squad to accommodate Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez, Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech and Senegal’s Idrissa Gueye in the midfield.

Cameroon's Joel Matip, Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, Ivory Coast's Serge Aurier covered the defense and Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana maned the post.

In front, African Player of the Year, Sadio Mane was paired with Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah.

The 23-year-old emerged as the player with most tackles to help the Super Eagles finish third in the biennial tournament. He was the second-best tackler in the English top-flight and currently ranks high in tackling and interceptions.

Ndidi who is currently leading the Premier League's list of players with most tackles in defense with 85 successful tackles ahead of the likes of Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tottenham Hotspur's Serge Aurier, was a surprise omission and Nigerians are not happy with the decision.
