Plateau United off to good start in Champions League qualifiers

Plateau United kicked off their CAF Champions League campaign with a draw against Gabonese side AS Stade Mandji.

The Peace Boys held AS Stade Mandji to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the first preliminary round at the at the Stade du Franceville on Saturday.

Goals from Nnerot Silas and Zulkifilu Mohammed ensured Plateau United put themselves in good position ahead of the return leg.

The second leg will be played at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Sunday, September 18th.

The overall winner will proceed to the second preliminary phase of the African elite football tournament.
