Peter Olayinka leaving Slavia Prague as free agent

Super Eagles forward, Peter Olayinka has agreed to join Serbian side FK Crvena Zvezda in July.

Olayinka agreed and signed a three-year preliminary contract with the club with the option of a further year.

The 26-year-old will complete the transfer on July 1, 2023, when his contract with Czech Republic giants Slavia Prague expires.

Olayinka has grown to become an important figure within the club since arriving from Belgium five years ago.

He teamed up with Slavia Prague in the summer of 2018 from KAA Gent in a deal worth €8m and it was the most expensive transfer in the history of the Vršovice club before Nicolae Stanciu surpassed it a year later.

He recorded 43 goals and 23 assists in 170 appearances, and also captained the team.

The Nigerian also won three titles with Slavia and won the domestic cup twice, he also played in the Champions League and helped the club reach the quarter-finals of Europa League and Conference League.

His new club, Crvena Zvezda is the most successful Serbian club in history, with a total of 30 titles.

The club gained an international reputation when it won the European Champions Cup in the spring of 1991, defeating Marseille in the final on penalties.

The forward, on Sunday, started Slavia Prague’s friendly match against Hradec Králové, played the entire second half.

He is also expected to join the Portuguese training camp on Tuesday.
