Pest trouble: mouse made Peter Crouch run naked

Former Liverpool striker, Peter Crouch has revealed his unprecedented experience when a mouse found its way into his house, saying that he chased the mouse naked with only rubber gloves on.

Crouch, a former Tottenham and Stokes player who netted 22 international goals for England said he was fast asleep with wife Abbey Clancy when they were woken by a mouse 'scurrying around'.

He said he leapt out of bed and saw the mouse run up the bedroom curtains.

The 6ft 7ins footballer - who retired last summer - said he ran downstairs to get some marigolds so he could take on the mouse.

Speaking on his BBC Radio 5 Live podcast last week, he said: "I've had a couple of pest problems.

"A mouse got into our bedroom in the middle of the night...I heard scurrying and looked over and saw the mouse. All hell broke loose.

"I had no clothes on, was wearing rubber gloves and was bouncing round trying to get this mouse out of the curtains.

He added: "The mouse went into the lining of the curtains, so he took a while to get out.

"I sort of fingered him down...I've gone into the lining and pushed him down.

"There were a lot of expletives - Abbey was on the bed, she didn't want to touch it or be near it."

He said he released the mouse into the garden after catching it, adding: "I think mice are alright." [Mirror UK]
