Peseiro, Ugbade confident of Golden Eaglets' chances at the AFCON

Super Eagles’ José Peseiro is backing Nigeria’s, Golden Eaglets to excel at the CAF U17 African Cup of Nations.

Peseiro was in attendance as the Nduka Ugbade’s side beat Ikon Allah Academy 9-0 and Propel Sporting Academy 6-0 in separate friendlies at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project, Abuja on Wednesday.

“I must say I have been impressed by a number of players in this team. They are headed for great things if they keep level heads and remain disciplined,” Peseiro said.

The Eaglets will face Morocco, South Africa and Zambia in Group B following the draw for the biennial competition on Wednesday.

The Head Coach of the team, Nduka Ugbade said he is confident boys will live up to expectation t the tournament proper.

“We shall approach every game with the seriousness it deserves, that is to win every game.”

“That is the mentality we take to the tournament. We know our opponents are tough and good at this level, but we shall try to outplay and overcome them.”

Algeria will host the 2023 U-17 AFCON from April 29 to May 19.
